How do I get started?
Just give us a call. We'll help you determine the size of the tank you'll need based on the square footage of your home and your anticipated uses.
We offer above-ground tanks in a variety of sizes, including:
- 120 gallon
- 250 gallon
- 325 gallon
- 500 gallon*
- 1,000 gallon
*The 500 gallon tank is our most popular.
Tanks that hold 250 gallons or more can be leased from Blackhawk Propane. We handle maintenance for the tank and regulators and will repair or replace them if anything ever goes wrong at no charge to the customer. Customers may also purchase their own tanks.
The 120 gallon "pig" tank is popular for heating garages, workshops or other outbuildings.
Tanks will be placed according to national codes on your property and can be accessed by our fill truck's 100 foot hose. We'll install and level it for you on concrete patio block.
It's a good idea to keep tanks away from open flames. If you want to paint your tank, use a light, reflective color such as silver, white, tan, gray, etc. A dark color will attract heat and could cause the safety valve to pop off to release the pressurized gas, thereby wasting your fuel.
