A sulfur or "rotten egg" smell is added to propane gas to help identify if a
leak is occurring. If you smell this, shut the tank off and give us a call at
1-800-371-3522 any time. We'll send out an expert with the super-sensitive
detectors that can find even the smallest leak. We'll check your lines,
regulators and connections and have the leak repaired and your service fully
restored as soon as possible.
Before any digging or building project, be sure to call Digger's Hotline at
1-800-242-8511. They'll mark the area where natural gas, water and electric lines are buried. Call Blackhawk Propane to come out and mark the area where propane gas lines run.
When building a deck or addition to your home, remember to leave access to
the place where your gas line enters your home. We do maintenance at least
every five years and sometimes have to replace equipment. We don't want you
to have to rip up your deck to allow us access -- call us in your planning
stages and we'll be happy to help you figure out a plan that will allow us
the access we need.
